Donate y’bike – whatever its condition!
The easiest way to donate your bike is to pop along to our Byker or Durham locations during store hours. We’ll gratefully take your bike off your hands and either repair it for resale or donation, pass it on to partners Key Enterprises or Deerbolt Prison or strip it for parts and recycle what can’t be reused. In this short video Neil gives you a behind the scenes tour so you can see how your donated bike is processed.
Unfortunately we aren’t always able to pick up bikes for donation.
However… you can drop your bikes off at two Northumberland locations:

Mobile: 0771 170 5125
Contact Jim Blythe:
Phone: 01289 382442
We always need volunteers to help in our Byker and Durham shops. We even have a Young Volunteers Club at Byker for under 18’s! If you’d like to volunteer please complete the online application form. Under 18’s please visit the Young volunteers club page. It can take a few weeks for applications to be processed as we wait for references to be returned before contacting applicants to invite them for an informal interview. Please note that our Durham shop currently has a waiting list. For more information read our Volunteering Policy 2020
If you want to simply give us cash instead of bikes or time, that’s fine. Your cash will help pay for parts and labour for bikes which we donate to people on very low incomes. It will also support our community outreach work. You can drop your spare change into any of our shops, or you can make a donation via PayPal, which accepts regular credit & debit cards:
