Donate y’bike – whatever its condition!
The easiest way to donate your bike is to pop along to our Byker or Durham locations during store hours. We’ll gratefully take your bike off your hands and either repair it for resale or donation, pass it on to partners Key Enterprises or Deerbolt Prison or strip it for parts and recycle what can’t be reused. In this short video Neil gives you a behind the scenes tour so you can see how your donated bike is processed.
Unfortunately we aren’t always able to pick up bikes for donation.
However… you can drop your bikes off at two Northumberland locations:

Contact Jim Blythe:
Phone: 01289 382442
We always need volunteers to help in our Byker and Durham shops. We even have a Young Volunteers Club at Byker for under 18’s! If you’d like to volunteer please complete the online application form. Under 18’s please visit the Young volunteers club page. Please note that – because of Covid restrictions – we’re limiting numbers of attendees which means that both sites currently have a waiting list. For more information about volunteering at Recyke y’bike check out our Volunteering Policy 2020
If you want to simply give us cash instead of bikes or time, that’s fine. Your cash will help pay for parts and labour for bikes which we donate to people on very low incomes. It will also support our community outreach work. You can drop your spare change into any of our shops, or you can make a donation via PayPal, which accepts regular credit & debit cards:
If you are a UK tax payer please complete the Gift Aid form and email it to email@example.com
